Choosing the Wisdom of Faith

On Sunday, September 23, 2012 the Church of the Nativity UCC is departing from the usual lectionary readings and celebrating the second Sunday in the Season of Creation, Sky Sunday.  However, for those of you using the recommended readings, here is a Call to Worship based on Psalm 1.  Please feel free to use or adapt it as you wish.

Call to Worship    from Psalm 1

L: Blessed are you when you don’t keep bad company,

     get led around by scammers, or fall into malicious gossiping.  
P: Instead you love the wisdom of the Bible, and you turn to it

     every chance you get.
L: So your roots go deep into living water!
P: You’re like a tree planted by a river whose leaves never wither.

     You are a blessing to others and your life is full of grace.
L: Not so for the wicked, though. They are dust in the wind.
P: They have no foundation. Their day of reckoning will come.

All: You can count on it! God is guiding your steps.

        But the wicked choose their own way to ruin.
